Bad Faith: The Supreme Court Decision in Sky v SkyKick
The Supreme Court has handed down its much-anticipated judgement, concluding the dispute between Sky Ltd and SkyKick UK Ltd.
Our team continues to expand as we welcome three new recruits to Wilson Gunn. New associate, Sarah Dacre, and trainee, Agnes Chu, join our trade marks team and new associate, Neal Pollock, joins our patents team. Together they bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and a fresh perspective.
Trade marks team expands in both Manchester and Birmingham
Sarah Dacre has 14 years trade mark experience both in private practice and in-house working for one of the world’s leading alcoholic beverage companies and, immediately prior to joining Wilson Gunn, a leading international pharmacy-led health and beauty group. She is a Registered Trade Mark Attorney and European Trade Mark and Design Attorney and a welcome addition to our Birmingham office, which continues to expand.
We are also pleased to welcome Agnes Chu, who joins us as a trainee Trade Mark Attorney at our busy Manchester office.
Patent attorney joins from Tata Steel
Our patents team is strengthened by the arrival of European Patent Attorney Neal Pollock who joins us from the in-house patents department of Tata Steel in the Netherlands. Neal is experienced in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and has particular expertise in the fields of polymer chemistry, electrochemical devices and coated products. Neal also handles patent oppositions, advises on potential infringements and brings a valuable in-house perspective to his advice.
In-house experience is valuable in the IP profession
Partner, James Robey, said, “It’s our 150th year in business and very encouraging that we are continuing to expand. With new additions Sarah, Neal and Agnes, we are looking to make sure we are best placed to continue to deliver an excellent service to our clients.
“Both Sarah and Neal have worked in-house for global businesses. This gives them a valuable insight into our client’s needs and expectations, from which we can all learn.
I know all three new starters will complement our, already strong, trade mark and patent teams.”
