Wilson Gunn has again been recognised as a leading patent and trade mark firm in The Legal 500 2020 national rankings.

The Legal 500 is the leading guide to law firms in the UK. Their rankings are based on feedback from 250,000 in-house peers which are independently assessed by their experienced team of researchers.

Wilson Gunn’s trade mark team is ranked in tier two, placing it amongst the top trade mark firms in the country. The firm is praised for its “very service-orientated and personable” approach and for the “strength in depth” of the team. Partners Mark Goodwin, James Robey, Michael Douglas, Marc Lewis and Tim Rose were recommended as key lawyers by the Legal 500 and the firm was described as “a really great firm that is also fun to work with”.

The firm has also maintained its national tier three ranking for patents, praised for its “fantastic client service delivery” and high level of experience “across all key scientific disciplines and major sectors”. There were also commendations for the team, Mark Goodwin is praised for his “extremely commercial and very personable” approach and James Robey is described as “an out-of-the box thinker and problem solver” with “a real IP brain”. The other partners recommended as key lawyers were Michael Douglas, Ben Appleton, Marc Lewis, and Mark Jolly.
