Georgina Leck joined Wilson Gunn in 2022 and is training to qualify as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney.
Georgina’s education covered a broad range of areas including organic, inorganic and physical chemistry. During her PhD, Georgina also studied DNA chemistry and analytical chemistry whilst developing fluorescent nucleic acid sensors for the detection of DNA single point mutations. Whilst studying, Georgina was awarded funding to explore the intellectual property of her research and the journey to commercialisation. Georgina also completed a work placement at the University of Birmingham’s technology transfer office, gaining experience in the intellectual property matters of the University’s research projects.
Following the completion of her PhD, Georgina worked for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) as a Business Development Manager, supporting SMEs in the North West access STFC’s leading science facilities in high performance computing and advanced manufacturing.
